132. Ruskin (John, author, artist & social reformer, 1819-1900) Autograph Letter signed to William Rossiter, 1p., 8vo, Denmark Hill, 22nd December 1867, "I have been very busy since I got the programme of the S[outh] London [Working Men's College] and not able to think about it - the one patent fact being that with ?Huxley for your head & such a staff as you have already for your support, their's not much fear of your getting on. I have a good deal of trouble in supporting myself, just now, in any daily work... if all my friends would kindly consider me dead for five years, (and write me some nice complimentary) epitaphs, which perhaps I might get more good of than dead people usually do - I believe I should come to life again in a more useful shape for everybody", tears along folds, repaired, browned.
